166 million children and adolescents aged 10-19 years worldwide experience a mental disorder - the value of prevention and promotion for child and adolescent mental health, and the importance of early intervention to prevent mental illness needs to be a priority for child and adolescent mental health services.

The aim of the Day Centre for Children & Adolescents is to lay the foundations so that children, adolescents and young adults in a safe environment of joy and motivation have the opportunity to strengthen their abilities and develop the internal mechanisms that will accompany them in their daily lives.

The individual objectives pursued through the operation of the Day Centre are:
  1. To contribute to the socialisation of children and adolescents
  2. To contribute to the smooth social and educational in the school environment
  3. Create functional bonds within the family
  4. To psychoeducate parents and guardians on the challenges of Mental Health
The Day Centre is addressed to children and adolescents with mental disorders and psychosocial problems. In particular, direct beneficiaries of the Day Centre can be:
  1. children - 10 to 13 years old who have psychological and psychosocial difficulties or disorders,
  2. adolescents - 13 to 18 years old who have psychological and psychosocial difficulties or disorders,
  3. young adults - 18 to 22 years old who have psychological and psychosocial difficulties or disorders.
Indirect beneficiaries of the Day Centre can be the family/supportive framework of the beneficiary children and adolescents, health and mental health professionals, schools and social institutions working with children and adolescents.
The Institution cooperates with the General Hospital of Attica "Sismanoglio" and EPAPSY in order to offer scientific experience, supervision and know-how for the organization and operation of the services of the Day Centre.

  1. Needs assessment, conducting psychometric tests
  2. Development and implementation of personalised care and support plans
  3. Therapeutic interventions (counselling support for the empowerment and strengthening of the mental resilience of children and adolescents, individual therapeutic intervention for children, adolescents and parents facing mental disorders
  4. Therapeutic groups (family and school support groups, specialised programmes such as therapeutic exercise, arts therapies)
  5. Systematic monitoring (follow-up)

The Day Centre for Family Support is implemented within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan Greece 2.0 with funding from the European Union - NextGenerationEU.
